Tradition providing the key to radical evolution

The Peter Pichler Architecture story began in 2015 on a beach on the island of Majorca, where husband and wife team Peter Pichler and Silvana Ordinas made the decision to open a design studio in Milan. So it was that, in a renovated historical warehouse in the city’s Navigli area, an experimental architecture laboratory started life. Animated by a young, dynamic, and interdisciplinary team, the practice has continued to grow.

Peter Pichler and Silvana Ordinas have a shared vision of architecture, both believing that an understanding of tradition is the key to a radical evolution towards a sustainable future. The studio’s projects, which have won numerous awards, are distinguished by an innovative and contemporary approach, fueled by a deep respect for the local culture and natural setting of each design.

Some highlights from the studio’s portfolio are the Bonfiglioli Headquarters in Bologna; Hotel Milla Montis in Maranza and the Hotel Schgaguler in Castelrotto, both in Italy’s Bolzano province; the Oberholz Mountain Hut in Obereggen, South Tyrol; the “scattered” and sustainable tourist complexes Tree Houses (Dawson Lake, United States), Vertical Chalets in Kitzbühel (Austria); the Kastelaz Hof residence in Termeno, South Tyrol; and a home in Abu Dhabi, the studio’s first project in the Middle East, is currently in progress. Peter Pichler’s portfolio also includes projects in Germany, Mexico, and Russia.
