Robert Goodwin is the architectural design director for our New York office. He has practiced architecture for more than 20 years and brings a unique design sensibility to projects ranging in scale from complex mixed-use towers to signature light fixtures. His approach begins with an investigation of the culture, context and climate and then he integrates this analysis with a thorough understanding of function that allows him to create a unified and meaningful architectural response.. His work explores an "expressive sustainability", in which innovative solutions to environmental demands become a source of aesthetic inspiration. Recently, his work was included in the Height exhibit at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. Among other awards, he has won the MIPIM Future Projects award for innovative tall buildings two years in a row. Rob's work has been published in Architecture, Architectural Record, the Architectural Review, the New York Times and the Baltimore Sun. A graduate of Cornell University's School of Architecture Art and Planning, he has co-taught studios at Cornell and RISD and recently lectured at Stanford and MIT about his work.
