Jewelleryscape investigates, for the first time, how the new communication's platforms as social networks and blogs have transformed the contemporary jewellery landscape. The accessibility of the web and the creation of "dedicated" sites as the blog www.jewelleryscape.com have enlightened othervise invisible talents coming from all over the world and contextually, have witnessed an epochal passage in the jewellery sector: from the idea of individuality to that of a community, from the subjectivity to diversity, from the lab to the observatory. This book presents 100 jewels of great masters and young students alike: the red thread that link them all is the design, connective tissue of the contemporary babel.

Alba Cappellieri

Alba Cappellieri is professor of Jewellery Design at the Politecnico di Milano and director of the postgraduate course in Jewellery Design. She has curated several International exhibitions and written seminal publications on jewellery design. The most recent ones include : Jewellery of the XX century (Skira- Rizzoli International 2010), Precious Titanium (Electa 2010) Paper Jewellery, (Electa 2009), Italian Contemporary Jewellery (Skira 2008), Jewellery Design (with M.Romanelli, Charta, Milano 2004)
