Silver Ions Technologies at the Service of Health and Beauty

Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top
By Redazione The Plan -

Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top is a highly innovative collection in which the characteristics, practicality and beauty of large slabs are blended with antibacterial technology to make porcelain stoneware even safer. It is a collection that exalts the veining and coloration of marble, enjoys the materiality of stones such as Ceppo di Gré and Travertino, and exploits the industrial essence of concrete in combination with the Marazzi The Top large format (162x324x1,2 cm). Recently unveiled at the 60th Salone del Mobile in Milan, this series was designed specifically for tops, backsplashes and tables in homes and businesses. The key to the Puro Marazzi Antibacterial innovation is a special treatment for the silver ions that ensures they provide constant and lasting protecting against bacteria, eliminating up to 99.9% of harmful microorganisms, but not at the expense of material beauty.

The technology prevents bacterial build-up by actively contrasting microbial reproductive action and thus works to prevent food-based pathogens from replicating. Since this solution works over time and in varying temperatures and light conditions, including in the dark, such surfaces also help to keep the room healthier and smelling fresher, through the elimination of unwanted smells.

Collezione Marazzi Grande The Top, allestimento a Eurocucina 2022, design Il Magma Courtesy Marazzi Group

Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top collection, in 12 mm-thick porcelain stoneware, comes in six options: Concrete Look White, Marble Look Elegant Black, Golden White, Statuario, Stone Look Ceppo di Gré and the extremely new Travertino Classico.

Il Magma displayed two examples of elegant, contemporary kitchens at Eurocucina 2022 in which stoneware slabs are an essential design tool. These examples, both open-plan kitchen and living-room solutions are wonderful visions of how this incredibly flexible material can be used. The deep veins of The Top Bianco Arni stand out thanks to what is called an “open book” installation, in which a continuous interplay of mirroring characterizes the floor in the first kitchen, with a table made using a slab of The Top Quarzo Bluegrey (also visible on the wall, in a matt version). In a slight contrast, the second kitchen island uses three geometric volumes, again in two different effects, stone and marble, to produce an architectural dialogue with the warm, polished tones in the veins of Burgundy Green and Travertino Classico in an anti-bacterial satin finish. These are two projects that embody the concept of spaces to live, rooms that form a continuum with the other areas in the home.
