The project is located in Sanliting, Hangzhou. It is an important birthplace of local intangible cultural heritage silk, and also an important space for the connection of old and new urban areas. Facing large-scale urban renewal and construction, a modern showroom first landed here. The surrounding environment of the site is very contradictory, adjacent to which are local marketplaces and high-end residential buildings under construction. The architect takes "Moonlight Box" as the design inspiration, and expresses the "Brocade" by architectural language, in an attempt to restore the interwoven silk image with soft warm light and flowing waterscape. In terms of structural details, the refined design method of node research and high-quality materials are used to create a modern space matching the future community.

The design is based on the limited site background, the main entrance is in the form of architectural landscape along the urban road interface, and the waterfall scenery is introduced to semi open courtyard landscape to make a dialogue with the surrounding old lane streets. The super scale flat metal eaves span the whole community center for a length of 33m. The hem design comes from the ultra slim and light design concept of "bezel less", which weakens the gravity pressure of traditional buildings and emphasizes the horizontal stretch tension.

A woven door leaf at the entrance is inspired by the local traditional silk weaving technology, which has a unique cooling and breathable effect. To meet the functional requirements of different stages, the architects deal with the details of the door leaf: when closed, it seems to be able to see the mysterious atmosphere through the weaving texture, emphasizing the privacy of the interior space; when opened vertically, it forms a bright and interesting gallery space, emphasizing the interaction of the outdoor space.

This project is a rare cross-border cooperation between architecture and intangible cultural heritage, creating unique visual effects. Based on the traditional "brocade" elements, the architects set up metal lintels with special weaving techniques at the entrance to continue the local silk weaving context. Silver canopy, golden lintel, flowing water features and lights in the front yard are intertwined to restore the silk image. Moreover, the community center not only focuses on the living style, but also on the health of human settlements. It is also the first supporting project of the WELL gold certification residential building in this city.
