Flexibility and ergonomics for workstations
Pharmaceutical firm Seqirus commissioned Loop Studio Associati to design its Italian headquarters in Monteriggioni near Siena in Tuscany. Basing the project on an existing multi-story building, the new office space was created by revamping the ground floor, turning it into about 750 sq. m of open-plan space. This light, spacious area was then arranged rationally, but maintaining flexibility to ensure changes could be made to accommodate evolving needs. The vertical partitions were kept to an absolute minimum, using the furniture to define the spaces according to specific practical criteria, with a view to allowing expansion in the near future as the firm grows its workforce.
In any such a project, the choice of furniture becomes fundamental, especially getting the right chairs to match the desired purpose and placement. Estel’s product range enabled the designers to find a comprehensive solution to every specific technical need in each environment. The ergonomics, the vast selection of materials and the color combinations of Estel’s chairs ensured high levels of comfort and the necessary customization for each work station. The managerial offices were integrated into the open space layout, along with a few meeting/conference rooms with glazed walls to allow in plenty of natural light. Red chairs with a modern design were chosen specifically because they reflect the Seqirus brand. The choice to favor the corporate colors is also evident in the entrance lobby, where visitors are welcomed by large black-and-red chairs that bring a clear sense of style.
The designers focused on employee well-being, as can be seen in the privacy and order that marks out each workstation. The highly flexible workspace also creates the ideal conditions for a climate of sharing and cooperation.
