Quai de l’Oise kindergarten

Warm hues and soft shapes

Quai de l’Oise kindergarten
By Redazione The Plan -

Designed by Agence Ville Espace & Architecture, the project for the Quai de l’Oise kindergarten along Paris’s Ourcq canal is a wonderful example of the seamless integration of technology and creativity. This multi-story building sits on a triangular parcel of land, with a large indoor play area and a covered outdoor space that includes an artistic garden designed specifically with young children in mind.

Curved lines and the decorative pattern on the façade, created with Max Compact Exterior panels by FunderMax, help produce a unique identity for the building. The choice of cladding was a deliberate decision by the architecture practice as it sought to merge performance and design for the soft shapes of the distinctive façade. The warm nuances in the different wood hues and the very few sharp corners, both inside and outside, make this a very safe environment for children. Long-lasting Max Compact Exterior panels are highly UV and scratch resistant, providing a truly versatile solution that designers can use to give practical form to their creative ideas. The panels come in multiple sizes that can be combined to produce different effects, including a concealing effect, as was the case for the ventilated façade at the Quai de l’Oise kindergarten. The extensive color and finishing range offers further scope for customization in the search for the ideal solution for the design and context.
