Terrace housing composes the contours of the horizontal block, and the residential towers rise above them. In addition, resembling the 20th century central Ankara’s vernacular housing texture, 4 to 6 floor apartment building typology is preferred as an the illustrative of the street façade. Varying the mix of the relevant typologies, houses with gardens and terraces, and residences, differing in in size and form, a wide range of housing mix aims to bring socially divers users together.
Long and thin arc-shaped land overlooks the Lake and greenery. Ensuring privacy to every house without losing the views and natural light, all units situated in the zigzag form at optimum angles, in order, to exclusively benefit the natural panorama.
Reaching from the street level, the retail and promenade valley smoothly welcomes the pedestrians in to the open, semi-open and closed spaces. Over the retail zone, the roof of the plinth is designed as a green landscaped interval before the residents. The houses are situated above this man-made ground, sharing the communal area dedicated to dwellers only, hence, the semipublic layer smoothly clears off the public layer dedicated to retail area below the podium.
Backing the buildings, the existing remains of the rocks of the quarry kept as they are and the natural texture is enriched with greenery aiming to respect the genius loci. Moreover, the colors and the textures of rock-walls are mimicked on the solid facades of all buildings.
The project generates urban and natural resources both for dwellers and visitors, respecting the private and public concerns; public use is organized as retail, leisure and catering facilities so that the complex becomes a lively destination and an extension of the metropolis, respecting resources.
Ankara is the capital of Turkey and the country's second largest city after Istanbul. Gölbaşı is a town and district of the Ankara Province, 20 km (12 mi) south of the city. According to a 2010 census, the population of the district is 95,109. The district covers an area of 738 km2 (285 sq mi), and the average elevation is 970 m (3,182 ft). The metropolitan area of the capital city expands so that Gölbaşı becomes an extention of metropolitan Ankara. The district includes the Mogan (Gölbaşı) and Eymir lakes that are valuable natural resources and popular picnic and excursion spots of the city.
The project site is an old stone quarry. The neighborhood consist of two-storey villas, regardless of the actual zoning status, the 108000 sqm project land is defined as “special project site” for a 152000 sqm construction.
The project is a housing-led mixed use with a 7000 sqm retail zone, housed at the podium of the construction.

From 1+1 to penthouses, a wide range of housing mix aims to bring socially divers users together.

Tabanlioğlu Architects was established by Murat Tabanlioğlu (RIBA Chartered, AIA Int.) in collaboration with Dr. Hayati Tabanlioğlu in 1990 and Melkan Gürsel Tabanlioğlu (AIA Int.) who joined the group in 1995. Based in Istanbul with branches in Ankara, Dubai, Doha and London, their offices have more than 160 employees, operating mainly in Turkey, MENA and CIS Countries.
Tabanlioglu has more than 60 years experience in architecture, searching for new efficiencies in terms of global and environmental needs and developments. Tabanlıoğlu works comprise wide range of building types. They have been awarded several international and national prizes; including 2013 Mipim AR Future Project Awards for Big Urban Project for Yenikapi Transfer Point and Archaeo Park Area, Selçuk Ecza Headquaters project won 2013 WAF Future Office Project Award and MIPIM 2015 Award Best Office and Business Development. Amongst many others, the Loft Gardens and for the Bodrum International Airport have both received Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) International Award. The project of the office is short listed for 'New National Stadium Japan International Design Competition' in November 2012The company ranked 66th “BD World Architecture Top 100 list” in 2014.
